Prayer and Promises

Ever feel you wanted someone else to share your concerns with?  Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety,  problems at work, going through a divorce , serious health issues, trouble with teens,  or feeling  lost?  Whatever your difficulty, God has offered many promises that will give us guidance and comfort.  Reach out to what God has made available. His Promises are endless; they will strengthen your trust in Him and fill you with an inner joy and peace that only God’s promises can do.

Go through this section using a promise for your specific need.  Put your finger on the promise and claim it as your own.  Talk to God, our Father, as you would a friend.  Tell Him all your concerns in secret or with a friend, pray earnestly, and wait for the promise to be answered.  It may not be answered exactly as we would like, but it will be answered even  in a  better ways, because God’s care for us goes beyond our understanding.

Below are a few guidelines you may choose to follow for prayer. Remember, we are addressing the King of the universe, yet He is our Father! (Awesome thought)

Praise Him- Give Him thanks for what He has done in the past for his people and for you.  Thank Him for the way in which He will answer your prayer.  Then, bless His name.

Repent– Ask forgiveness. Confess things you may have done that may not have been displeasing in His sight.  Believe that He has forgiven you and give Him thanks for this gift.

Ask– Make your request known unto God. He wants us to call unto Him.  This is where the Bible promises are going to come in.  Find one or more and claim them as your own.   Remember, He knew you before you were born.   You cannot burden Him nor hide from Him.

Yield- Submit your will to His. (Submit yourselves therefore to God… James 4:7). His love is infinite for us.  His power created the worlds and formed us.  We can trust ourselves to His care!

Close with thanksgiving and be confident that the Lord will fight for you.
